Skyjet Aviation - a subsidiary of Barbedos Group who are Embraer's sole executive jets Authorized Sales Representative for West Africa - previously catered mainly for the business aviation industry. SkyJet Aviation operates various aircraft for charter purposes with two Embraer Legacy 600s being acquired last year.

Dana Air however, will only be able to resume flight operations until it has paid all the compensation it owes to families of the 159 passengers involved in the crash of Dana Air flight 9J-997, who had submitted their letters of administration.

In a statement made shortly after the announcement, Dana Air said that it will soon be commencing flight operations with a date of resumption to be announced in due course, with the airline and its insurers working to ensure all applications for compensation were fully dealt with.
"We are pleased to announce the issuance of a new Air Operator Certificate to Dana Air by the NCAA, following a rigorous recertification exercise. With this development, the airline will soon be commencing flight operations and a date of resumption will be announced in due course.
Maximum effort is currently being made by the airline and its insurers to ensure that all insurance claims are fully settled in accordance with applicable law. We are aware of the challenges being faced by many families in securing Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration from the Probate Registry, a requirement for full settlement of claims, and would like to offer our assurances that payment would be made shortly after presentation of the required document and authentication by the Probate Registry."
