► SUDAN: Tarco Air leases Boeing 737 from Gambia's Aeolus Air.

Sudanese domestic-carrier Tarco Air (TRQ) has signed a lease with Gambian ACMI Aeolus Air for a Boeing 737 as the airline seeks to increase its share of the booming Sudanese aviation pie, by starting regional and international operations.

The aircraft in question is an ex Philippine Airlines and Delta Airways Boeing 737-300 C5-AAL (MSN 25996) that will be used to supplement Tarco Air's current fleet of ageing Russian aircraft namely two Yak 42Ds, an Antonov AN-32 and an AN-28.

At present, Tarco Air serves Khartoum, Nyala, El Fasher, El Genina and Juba, South Sudan.

Aeolus Air has been doing good business in Sudan as in May it wet-leased another of its Boeing 737-500s to Tarco Air's local rival Marsland Aviation.
