According to the CEO of Airport Terminal Operations Ltd (ATOL), Bruno Mazurkiewicz, the hangars are capable of handling both standard aircraft and large aircraft A380 type.

Tomorrow's arrival of the A380 will act as a precursor to the official opening of the new USD33million Terminal 2 set for April.  Aside from the construction of the terminal, various aspects of airfield infrastructure have also been improved upon with most notably: a new runway lighting system being installed, the extension of runway 14/32 by 150 meters to enhance operational safety, and the enlargement of runway turning circles.

French company, Aeroports de Paris (AdP), collaborated with the China State Construction Engineering Corporation in developing and managing the new terminal project with AdP's subsidiary, Aeroports de Paris Management, to manage the airport after its opening.
