► MALAWI: Nyassa Air Taxi, Wilderness Safaris enter into partnership.

Nyassa Air Taxi, a Private Charter and Fly-In Safari company operating out of Lilongwe and Blantyre, has partnered Wilderness Safaris Malawi in offering guests direct access to the best rates for fly-in safaris and charters in Malawi and its neighbouring countries.

While both Nyassa and Wilderness have collaborated with each other for a number of years, Wilderness Malawi has now taken on all administration, bookings and reservations for the aircraft.
"With this move, comes a greater ability for Wilderness to package its own lodges with flights at a lower price – particularly the more remote Chelinda Lodge in Nyika National Park. With the responsibility of aircraft to keep busy, Wilderness will also now be offering charters to other destinations."
Nyassa Air Taxi is a joint Austro-Malawian family-run venture involved in aviation since 1992 and which has been offering personalized Fly-In Safaris and charter services since 2005.

It is now the main provider of air charter services in Malawi and has no doubt, seen good business since the demise of both Air Malawi (QM)and Swift Air.

Meanwhile the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve along the western shores of Lake Malawi has opened a new airstrip enabling visitors to access the area more easily. The new strip was officially opened last month and lies just 2 km from the Tongole Lodge and the surrounding area.

Guests will also have options to connect to or from Likoma Island, Chelinda in the Nyika National Park in Northern Malawi and even to Mfuwe in South Lwanga in Zambia.
