► RÉUNION: Air Austral outlines its Summer 2013 timetable; added Paris CDG flights due in November.

Air AustralLa Réunion-based French carrier, Air Austral (UU), has outlined its planned Northern Summer 2013 timetable, which runs from 31 March to 26 October 2013, and which aims to optimize its flight schedule in order to help return the airline to break-even during the 2013/2014 Financial Year.

Amongst the highlights of its Summer 2013 program is its flagship flight UU975/974 Réunion - Paris CDG which will operate between 11 and 12 times week, leaving St. Denis at 20h20 and from Paris CDG at 19h45. However, preliminary work on the airport runways at Réunion's Roland Garros International Airport have necessitated a 1h15 stopover in Nairobi between March 11 and June 29. Depending on the weather and load factors, only 1 out of 3 flights will be direct.

A second Reunion - Paris CDG flight, a daytime flight, is to be launched on 21 November 2012; flight UU976/977 will operate 4 to 5 times per week, leaving Reunion at 11h00 and arriving in Paris at 20h00.

Regarding its Indian Ocean routes, Air Austral will offer daily flights from Réunion to 10 destinations in Mauritius, Mayotte, the Comoros, Seychelles, Madagascar.

During S13, service to the French department of Dzaoudzi in Mayotte, will increase to 11 weekly flights with 3 operated by Boeing 777. Mauritius will see two two additional "night stop" flights on Friday and Sunday evening with departure from Reunion scheduled for 20h00.

Two weekly flights to the Comoros  routed Moroni-Réunion-Dzaoudzi (Mayotte) are also included in the program, with 3 weekly rotations to Nosy-Be (Madagascar) with a twice weekly continuation onto Mayotte routed Réunion-Mayotte-Majunga (Madagascar).

As for the Seychelles, they will be served three times a week in code share with Air Seychelles (HM) (pending final approval from the competent authorities). 

Johannesburg (South Africa) will be served on Thursdays and Sundays, with Chennai / Bangkok operating on  Tuesdays and Fridays.
