The airline temporarily suspended flights in July to enable it to "fully service its aircraft". Its B737-300 (MSN 25079 | 5N-BMB) returned from maintenance in South Africa in early November thereby allowing the resumption of service, though when exactly, has not been specified.

Established in 1994 by Alhaji Chanchangi with flights between Kaduna, Lagos, Owerri, Abuja and Port Harcourt following in 1997, Chanchangi has had a bumpy operational history. In 2010, the carrier was grounded by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over a regulation stating that "no airline can operate with only one aircraft in service", which was the case with Chanchangi at the time of its then 2010 closure.
