■ TANZANIA: Direct Maintenance's stations in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro approved for EASA Part 145.

Direct Maintenance logoDutch-based line maintenance provider, Direct Maintenance, has announced that its two Tanzanian line stations at Dar es Salaam (DAR) and Kilimanjaro (JRO) have been approved for line maintenance under the company's EASA Part-145 approval. Following an initial start during 2012 for launch customer Qatar Airways (QR), both stations were recently added to the EASA approval thereby offering the same capability to a larger customer base.

According Roger Meels, Technical Director:
"Following the commencement of providing customer-focused line maintenance services at our first Tanzanian station in Zanzibar (ZNZ) back in 2006, we can now proudly say that Direct Maintenance is the only line maintenance provider operating 3 each EASA Part-145 approved line stations in Tanzania. We believe Tanzania as a country has much to offer, with an increasing level of industrial activity and growing tourism activity. Direct Maintenance is well placed and strongly committed to support any operators flying into Tanzania, either at DAR, JRO or ZNZ."
