► JAPAN: EgyptAir planning to nix its Osaka flights from late October over Tokyo's travel advisory.

EgyptairWith the recent suspension of flights to Tokyo Narita, Egyptair (MS) has now announced plans to terminate its twice weekly Cairo - Osaka Kansai service with effect from October 20.

Arabic paper Al-Ahram reports that Egyptair took the decision following the Japanese government's decision to maintain a travel advisory warning its citizens against "unnecessary" travel to the troubled North African state. Egyptair’s Japanese operations depend primarily on transporting Japanese tourists to Egypt.

While the Egyptian national carrier has since scheduled a tentative date of November 1 for a resumption of its suspended Tokyo operations, it remains to be seen whether or not flights will infact resume given Cairo's move to extend the country's state of emergency by another two months.
