● NIGERIA: Second Nigerian Business Aviation Conference set for March 2014.

Nigerian Business Aviation Conference logoEvergreen Apple Nigeria (EAN), the Lagos-based fully integrated business aviation services company, has confirmed the second Nigerian Business Aviation Conference, NBAC 2014, will be held on March 27, 2014. This year’s conference brought together over 100 international and African delegates from across the broad spectrum of business aviation, and it is anticipated that NBAC 2014 will once again attract HNWIs, OEMs, operators, financiers, lawyers, regulatory bodies and industry leaders. 2014 will see a doubling of delegate numbers bringing the total attendees to an anticipated 200.

Evergreen Apple Nigeria logoWe were extremely pleased with the success of this year’s event but realised for 2014 we would benefit from increasing delegate numbers to accommodate the growing interest in Nigeria’s business aviation sector,” says Segun Demuren, CEO of EAN, founder and host of the symposium. “We have seen a steady increase in business aircraft sales in Nigeria over the last twelve months and believe it is imperative that we continue to discuss the main issues affecting the industry so we can build a solid and reliable business aviation infrastructure for the future,” he continued, commenting on the rationale for holding a second event.
While the overall conference theme will focus on how to create a better understanding of the value of business aviation in Nigeria, its’ importance as an economic driver for the region, and its contribution to developing international business, it is anticipated that key themes arising from this year’s meeting will be revisited and developed namely: the growing need for professional aircraft management companies, the challenges of aircraft financing, the importance of having regional based OEM service centres and the significance of operating within a complex regulatory structure.

The event is also being welcomed by the African Business Aviation Association, AfBAA which recently launched its own series of Regional Symposia with its debut in September 2013. Part of AfBAA’s strategy going forward is to support individual country forums by supporting members arranging local aviation events as exemplified by the NBAC. The conference will consist of key note speakers, moderated panel sessions and will aim to provide a forum for all Nigerian business aviation stakeholders to exchange views.
