► NIGERIA: Cargolux to start Port Harcourt ops from early March.

Luxembourg's Cargolux (CV) has announced that it is to add Port Harcourt in Nigeria as a new destination on its African network. The inaugural service, CV7122, will be operated on 5 March 2013 with Cargolux’s Boeing 747 freighter. (Editor's note - whether this is the 747-8 or 747-400F is unclear).

Port Harcourt's strong oil and gas traffic has seen increased demand for more direct flights with particular emphasis on heavy freight such as equipment and support-related items. In addition to flying heavy and outsized freight, Cargolux carries a range of consumer goods for the local consumer market.

The new service also connects Lagos, Kinshasa and Nairobi with Europe and offers convenient and efficient onward connections to and from all Cargolux destinations worldwide.
