► MALI: Douniah Airlines now eyeing an ATR72 with new launch date set for late May.

MaliMalian startup, Douniah Airlines (DTS), is now set to add an ATR72 to its fleet in preparation of its planned launch, delayed from earlier this year likely due to the crisis in Mali.

According to ch-aviation, while previously having planned to commence flights with a B737-300, Douniah are now said to be eying an ATR72 for use on the following twice weekly routes due from May 21 on:

Bamako Senou International Airport
Douniah Airlines (DTS)
-Eff 21MAY13
  • Bamako - Conakry - Dakar
  • Bamako - Cotonou - Libreville
  • Bamako - Lagos - Malabo

With the situation in the north of Mali returning to a state of stability, so Air Mali (I5), has taken its first steps towards resuming operations by dusting off its stored Bombardier CRJ200 (MSN 7392 | TZ-RCA) kept until recently in France. Its CRJ currently operates for sister airline Air Burkina (2J).
