► NIGERIA: SkyBird Air granted AOC, operations set to begin in due course.

SkyBird Air logoStartup, SkyBird Air (KYC), has been awarded its AOC with flights operations expected to begin in due course, the airline's Managing Director, Mr. Sam Ayodele, has said.

Speaking during a brief award ceremony held at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority's headquarters in Lagos this week, Mr. Ayodele, described the AOC certification as a milestone in the life of the new company.
With the AOC certification by NCAA, Skybird is on the way to revolutionising executive charter operation in the country. As confirmed by the certification, our processes are world-class, just as the personnel is made of the best,” he said.
He said the company was coming into the sector to take executive jet operation in the country to a new height, adding that luxury and safety would be hallmarks of its charter operations.

SkyBird Air is beginning flight operations with five aircraft, including two Gulf Stream jets and three ex-Shell Nigeria Dornier 328 series (5N-BMH, 5N-SPE, 5N-SPM) with further jets set to join its fleet soon after operations begin. One of the Dorniers is configured in a twelve passenger VIP-layout, while the other two are in a standard 32-seat configuration.
