► KUWAIT: Egyptair Express starts 3x weekly Sohag - Kuwait City flights.

Egyptair Express logoEffective Saturday, August 24, Egyptair Express (MSE) has launched three times weekly flights between Sohag, a city in central Egypt that lies on the west bank of the Nile, and Kuwait City. Flights operate onboard an Embraer E170.

► KUWAIT: Nile Air starts flights between Alexandria and Kuwait City.

Nile AirEgyptian airline Nile Air (NP) has launched a new route between Alexandria and Kuwait City effective 14 February, according to Kuwait's General Directorate of Civil Aviation. The Head of the Flight Scheduling department at the Kuwaiti Aviation Authority, Emad Al-Sabti, said that Nile Air would start operating the new route twice-a-week.

► SUDAN: Sudanese Government in talks with Antonov over purchase of An148s/158s for Sudan Airways.


Sudan AirwaysAntonovSudan’s Transport Minister, Ahmed Babiker Nahar has signed a preliminary deal with Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer, Antonov, for the purchase of  five Antonov aircraft for onward placement in Sudan Airways (SD). The move was precipitated by Sudan Airways' inability to access Western aircraft owing to US trade sanctions against Khartoum.

EgyptairA Jordanian man, who had smuggled a snake aboard Egyptair (MS) flight MS610 from Cairo (Egypt) to Kuwait City (Kuwait) with 91 passengers, was bitten by the reptile after it managed to escape the bag he was carrying it in.
