► TANZANIA: Mango, AfricaStay to start charter flights to Zanzibar from mid March.

Confirming previous speculative reports, South African LCC Mango (JE) in conjunction with AfricaStay, a specialized internet travel company focusing on promoting travel within Africa, are to offer once weekly charter flights between South Africa and Zanzibar using a Boeing 737-800.

ZanzibarAccording to TourismUpdate, flights will begin on 12 March and will operate on Tuesdays (likely out of Johannesburg ORTIA though this is not yet confirmed) with a same day return.

A Saturday-operated flight is also planned over December.

Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout has stated that Mango is presently pursuing several new routes, with a particular focus on the east-African seaboard, with a planned roll-out of 18 months.
