Amongst the measures taken by AFI KLM E&M included organizing the lease of two spare engines and a shop visit for the two faulty engines.

Hassan Aziz, President and CEO of AlMasria Universal Airlines, hailed “the availability and responsiveness of AFI KLM E&M’s technical support team, who adapted to our requirements, especially with respect to lead-times and implementation.”

Fabrice Defrance, AFI KLM E&M Senior Vice-President, Commercial, said he was delighted with the “opportunity to serve a new Egyptian client. We are honored by the trust shown by a reliable and dynamic young airline like AlMasria Universal Airlines. This is a fine opportunity for the AFI KLM E&M brand to shine even more and bolster its network of clients and partners throughout the region.”

Founded in 2007 as Egypt's first privately-owned scheduled airline, AlMasria Universal Airlines has a growing fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft (two aircraft in 2009, five expected in 2012). It operates scheduled flights on a network covering domestic, regional (Middle East) and international (Europe) destinations.
