■ MAURITIUS: Zambia, Mauritius set to sign BASA in near future.

ZambiaMauritiusFollowing the 2nd session of the Zambia-Mauritius Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation held in the Mauritian capital, Port Louis, last week, Mauritius and Zambia have agreed to sign a Bilateral Air Services Agreement in the near future, aimed at promoting and enhancing trade between the two countries.

During the session, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries as regards to trade, business facilitation and joint ventures in various sectors of the economy as well as in the development of new spheres of cooperation between both countries.
Mauritian Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Xavier-Luc Duval, said that Mauritius and Zambia are also finalising two Memoranda of Understanding with regards to increased services and a bilateral air services agreement which he said, "will be signed very soon between the two countries."

The 3rd session of the Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation between Mauritius and Zambia will be held in 2015 in Zambia.

Zambia and Mauritius do not presently share any direct air links.
