► ALGERIA: Air Algérie now eyeing two Ethiopian Airlines MD11Fs for Cargo ops.

Air Algérie logoAir Algérie (AH) is planning to add two Ethiopian Airlines Cargo McDonnell Douglas MD-11Fs (possibly (MSN 48758 | ET-AML) and (MSN 48780 | ET-AND)) to its Cargo division as part of its fleet renewal and business turnaround plan.

Via its official Facebook page, the Algerian national carrier has confirmed it is looking to acquire seven Boeing 737-800NGs, seven Boeing 787-800 Dreamliners and two McDonnell Douglas MD11s for CARGO, having recently issued a multi-billion dollar tender for the acquisition of aircraft, though no official confirmation has been received from Ethiopian.

In addition, the airline intends to order three new Airbus A330-200s to aide in  planned flights to Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Lagos, New York, Sao Paulo and Shanghai. The carrier also intends to retire three Boeing 767-300ERs.
